With the large sale for the Plenary group I was able to upgrade my camera equipment. I was originally shooting with the Canon 50D and a kit lens and a low end telephoto lens. Though great photos can be taken with even point and shoot cameras, I decided to upgrade from what I had. I ended up getting the Canon 5D Mark 2 and a couple L series Canon lenses. The 5D Mark 2 is a full framed (sensor) camera unlike the 50D which had a cropped sensor. The full frame gives some extensive advantages in image quality from a crop frame. Starting with much higher noise and low light performance to substantially greater clarity and detail in each photo and much wider dynamic range from highlight to shadows, and no crop factor involved in lens focal length. Combine that with Canon L series lenses (Canon’s flagship family of lenses), the quality at full sized files can not be beat. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with full frame, and find I can push the pixels in post processing further, but just to be clear, shooting with a full framed Canon Camera requires shooting with only the highest end lenses whether it is from Canon or from Sigma. EFs lenses from Canon WILL NOT even mount on any full frame cameras.
Full frame shooting is a whole different animal from the more consumer grade crop sensor cameras. Below are some photos I have been taking with the new camera, and remember at 22 Megapixels, these are very large files at original size.
These photos are but a tiny selection of my collection. Go to Paul’s Colorado Photography and look around the gallery for an extensive selection taken over the many years I have been shooting
I recently had a large corporate sale with the Plenary Group. Several large photos are hanging in their office on the 30th floor of the Wells Fargo Center in Downtown Denver. The Plenary Group is a Canadian based infrastructure planning company. They have a multi billion dollar contract managing US-36 also known as the Denver/Boulder Turnpike, this also includes the future HOV and Toll lanes. They also received the contract to manage the HOV/Toll lanes on I-25, Colorado’s busiest highway.
I am more than capable of large scale corporate sales. with the recent upgrade in camera equipment I can print extremely large, exceeding 100 inch sized photos. Contact me through my website if there are any questions about my corporate sales.
This has been in the working for quite a while now but was kept secret until now. One of my photos is on the cover of a book pertaining to John Paul II and world youth day here in Denver back in 1993 written by JD. It is the story of the authors involvement in World Youth Day and other events in his life leading up to the canonization of John Paul II. The title is Drafted To Serve: Pope John Paul II A Saint: Making Miracles Happen. It is currently available as an E-book and July 30th will be available in hard copy.
I’m hoping you can take a quick minute to simply take a look. If you’re interested in purchasing the book I receive a royalty (and any help is good help!)

From the preface:
Drafted To Serve: Pope John Paul II – A Saint – Making Miracles Happen is a true story. Chronicling the actual actions and experiences of my partner and I as they took place in 1992 and 1993. It is about the Spirit of God, and his relationship with Pope John Paul II, and his love for that individual, as God journeyed with him on his travels to spread the word of God’s love of all.
I have been busy with moving and many other things so I have not been able to get out for new photos in a while.
This video was taken almost a month ago and created in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. I just uploaded it to Vimeo. Part one that was originally posted on youtube is available on Vimeo now as well.
